Sub-Consultancy Services of Hydrological Analysis, Hydraulic Analysis and River Planning for Hydrological Analysis and River Planning

Funding Agency: JICA
Client: YACHIYO ENGINEERING CO. LTD, Japan
Date:  June 2024 – March 2026

The Department of Water Resources and Irrigation intends to carry out Hydrological Analysis and river planning for the Keshaliya River, the Singhia River, and the Lohandta River to develop a flood control master plan.

Objectives of the project:

The objective of the project is:

  1. To understand the hydraulic characteristics of the target river basin selected for Flood Control M/P;
  2. To formulate the flood hazard map and flood risk map;
  3. To understand and follow the necessary process to formulate the Flood Control M/P with the government;
  4. To finalize the Flood Control M/P in the target river basin.

The services that will be carried out during the contract period are as follows:

1. Hydrology Analysis

  • Formulating the flood defense plan, overall examination of the river flood control, water utilization, and environmental conservation.
  • Design Hydrograph
  • Design Rainfall
  • Design Control Point
  • Design Scale of Plan
  • Rain Analysis
  • Determination of Design Rainfall
  • Determination of Hydrograph
  • Design Flood Discharge
  • Runoff Analysis

2. Hydraulic analysis and River Planning ·

  • Determine the roughness coefficient
  • Water level calculation
  • Calculating the flow discharge capacity
  • Review the hydrological analysis based on the hydraulic analysis

3. River channel stability assessment
