The Road Connectivity Sector Project (RCSP) was developed in response to the Government’s emphasis on expanding the country’s transport facilities to remote areas. The roads covered by the project lie in different regions of the country and represent essential links that can contribute to poverty reduction as well as district connectivity. The project will (i) improve and develop road network to induce more efficient movement of goods and passengers and to provide better access to income, employment opportunities, education, and health facilities; (ii) support the development of private sector capabilities to carry out road improvement and (iii) improve road safety.
The project involved a Feasibility Study, Detailed Design, and Construction Supervision of Roads.
Feasibility Study of 105 km of the following two non-sample roads:
i) Outer Ring Road Kolphu-Central (45 km)
ii) Khudi-Chame Road- Central (60 km)
Detailed Design of about 239.91 km of three Sample roads and 255.51 km of seven non-sample roads, including Sunkoshi Bridge.
Sample Roads:
i) Galchi – Trishuli – Syaphrubesi-Central (89.88 km)
ii) Tamakoshi - Manthali – Khurkot Central (55.15Km),
iii) Phidim – Taplejung and link Road-Eastern (94.88 km)
